The first thing you should know is that I don’t like writing about myself so I’m keeping this short and sweet.. but feel free to contact me with questions should you need to know more than the following… I was born and grew up on the Isle of Wight and have found myself back here after some years away - a year in Falmouth doing a Foundation in Art & Design, 2 years in Cardiff studying for an HND in Graphics and three in Swansea to complete my formal education with a degree in Illustration. After all this I disappeared to Fuerteventura and managed to get by finding various arty jobs from painting pools to designing flyers. Since then work has ranged from illustration for a London based agency specialising in children’s books to Sign writing. During the last few years I have been enjoying painting on a larger scale using texture and colour as well as the human form …a subject I have always loved from anatomy to life drawing and which is probably present in most of my work whether it be illustration or painting. I love the sea and I love surfing so the water sports section in my artwork was a natural starting point for this type of painting but I have and will continue to find new subjects and styles in all areas of my work. |
